This project features a 15' x 30' infinity edge pool with integral spa. The design is informed by overlapping constraints including rock outcrops, a wetland, and building setbacks that netted very little space with which to work. The process involved town meetings across several agencies and a variance was required to locate the pool within a setback envelope.
Movement, like water spilling over a vanishing edge - or suggested movement, like a staircase that entices passage - is seductive, beckoning exploration into the unknown by triggering human curiosity. The emotional aspects of design can be curated in the same manner as more tangible elements like line, shape, and form by mirroring thought and emotion.
