Above: A hillside sloping towards the back of the owner's home is a picturesque setting for an infinity edge pool and waterfall that can be viewed from within the residence. The 15' x 35' pool is centered on bay door projection that houses a breakfast nook. Upper and lower patio terraces provide multiple longe areas (rooms) for relaxation and enjoyment.

Above: Pictorial sequence illustrating before, during, after, and nighttime images taken from the same general angle. The rhythm of lounge areas (rooms) and walkways (hallways) around the pool is framed by the retaining wall and expressed into the landscape by planters featuring Prairifire Crabapple trees that complete a metaphorical Fire and Water theme.

Above: The PeeGee tree form hydrangea in the foreground provides a visual anchor point and adds dimension to this set of during and after photographs. Weeping cutleaf Japanese Maples, a common motif for LDC designs with infinity edge pools, are like reflective sketches of the cascading waterfall and, with uplighting, will resemble Tiffany lamps when mature.

Above: This series of images illustrates the infinity edge feature of the pool from various perspectives. The balanced and symmetrical design provides even spacing for landscape and pool lighting that add another dimension to the user experience. Landscape lighting should provide subtle and warm accents while addressing considerations for safety.
